Waiting and waiting and waiting impatiently. . . When will we be collecting the keys to our Love Nest??!
Well, we have applied for a BTO unit since 16 Dec 2009. Back then we knew it will be an extensive wait with a probable completion date in the 1st Quarter of 2015 (6 years wait, probably the longest wait ever). We deemed that during the interim, we should have ample time to save enough for the renovation, furniture and whatnot.
Why did we choose that area? It’s so out of the way, away from everyone! Too bad! Can’t get the $30K CPF Housing Grant for living near parents. Initially, Mr would like to stay near his respected Grandma and finds that the area she stays is convenient to travel to town and all. I am okay with that though, but frankly speaking I don’t like to take the LRT as I find it a hassle. Also, when we were ready to apply for a BTO, there wasn’t any in that area.
One day, this Sky Terrace at Dawson development was released for application. We thought that, hmm, a premium flat ley, the HDB labels it, why not give it a shot! And there, our first ballot for an HDB. Weeks later, during the release of result, we felt like we had ‘struck’ 4D knowing that our queue number to select the flat is 66, hell yeah! Quite a nice queue number right?!
We picked a few standby units just in case the ones we desire were taken by those before us. On the day of the unit selection, as expected, our choice unit were indeed selected by someone already. Sigh! No choice, have to take the standby one. In the end still alright as the unit that we picked is not facing the West Sun. Phew!
Recced the place (July 2010) before hoarding was done by the respective Contractors. Anticipating already~
That is my Mr’s backview!

Above photos (except the first) were snapped by some of our prospective neighbours, nice right! Thanks to Facebook, there is a group especially for the future-residents of SkyTerrace& SkyVille to connect with each other to share and discuss related topics even before we really become neighbours. Some of them are really informative!
Wah!! Finally~~~ Most likely we should be able to collect the keys by end of this year, YEAH! *Fingers & toes crossed & feeling hopeful*.
What made us choose SkyVille over SkyTerrace?
Although SkyVille has balcony which we like. And at the main door entrance has a foyer where we are able to put lotsa barang-barang. ^^ And at SkyTerrace, the 5-room units are considered a corridor unit to us though. However, key attraction of SkyTerrace is in it’s rectangular shaped Master bedroom (most importantly right!), where we can have a luxurious walk-in wardrobe and hide away clothings. Pending design from our ID now. ^^ And of course, the exquisite façade of SkyTerrace in comparison with Skyville made us mark our decision.
